We are looking for a highly experienced Senior AWS Cloud & Kubernetes Engineer to help stabilize, redesign, and optimize a complex cloud environment built on AWS, leveraging EKS, MSK (Kafka), EMR, and a Spark-based data ecosystem.

The ideal candidate is someone exceptionally strong technically, capable of auditing the current infrastructure, identifying critical gaps, and implementing industry best practices at a level that exceeds the founders’ own expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Kubernetes (K8s): Manage and optimize EKS environments where everything is      containerized.
• Networking: Architect and fix VPC and VPN setups. The goal is to have a single VPN entry point that segregates access to specific VPCs based on user roles.
• Infrastructure as Code: Implement AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit) to deploy applications (EKS, MSK, EMR) via code.
• Automation: Set up automated deployments for code and infrastructure, including using Carpenter for compute scaling.

Requirements

• Kubernetes (K8s) & EKS

• Complex networking (VPC design, VPNs, routing, segmentation)
• AWS ecosystem (VPC, EKS, IAM, MSK, EMR, Networking)
• Advanced level of English
• Networking: VPC design (Virtual Private Cloud) and VPN configuration (specifically managing access across multiple VPCs).
• Big Data Infrastructure:
• Spark: AWS EMR (Elastic MapReduce).
• Streaming: Kafka, specifically AWS MSK (Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka).
• Scaling/Automation: Carpenter (for compute scaling/updates).
